TUSCANY DAY 4

Sunday was a slow day. It was very cold, very rainy, and there was a marathon in Florence that ruined the morning.

The only bad part about our hotel was the parking situation. We had to leave the car in a garage that was a 10 minute walk away. Since it was cold and rainy, Chris and Krystal went to get the car and were going to pick us up in front of the hotel. But because of the marathon, all the streets inside the city were closed. To make matters worse, police kept directing them further away! The traffic was terrible too. They were stuck, lost and stressed.

Meanwhile, Dexter and I were in the room playing.

After awhile and a few phone calls from some stressed-out Wimmers, I decided to be pro-active and head out. Dexter and I spent a few minutes at the market and then headed to the train station. Since there were plenty of cars driving around, I called and told them to pick us up there.

We eventually made it to Pisa.
Though it was very cold and rainy it was still exciting to see!

We were barely in Pisa for an hour before we headed back to Florence. By then it was evening, and still cold and rainy. Bummer. We walked around and checked out some shops. We had one last phenominal dinner involving steak, pasta and the best artichokes we've ever tasted.

Monday morning we woke up early and drove back to Rome to catch our flight home. It was sunny the whole way.
