ETNA SNOW DAY

Yesterday we visited our friendly neighborhood volcano, Mt. Etna, for a beautiful snow day! It was a dreary, rainy day, but as we drove up the mountain we drove through the clouds and out the top where it was bright and sunny!

Snow looks cool on the black lava rock.

It was so clear we could even see the very top peak of the mountain!

Here's the same crater where dad and the boys went when they visited Etna. It looks a lot different filled with snow!

It was Dexter's first snow experience. Though it was really cold, he loved it! Dexter laughed and kicked! When the wind blew really hard he buried his face in Mahlon's shoulder. Then he'd peek his head out again and laugh and kick!

Here we are in front of the crater.

There were several kids using it to sled! I would have loved to do that. Maybe next year!

Dexter got his first taste of snow. He loved it! He kept opening his mouth for more! He seems to like snow more than bananas and applesauce.

Back down through the clouds we go! Back to our drab, rainy day.
